Calò received the Dr. Eng. degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Salento in 2008.
His studies focus on high performance computing, in particular on high performance file system and parallel file system on parallel computer. In 2008-2011 he held a Junior Computer Systems Analyst position for ComputerVar S.r.l at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) Supercomputing Center Lecce. Since 2011, he joined the Scientific Computing and Operations Division (SCO) at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) as Junior Computer Systems Analyst position at Supercomputing Center Lecce.
His main interests concern the High Performance Computing in particular the parallel computers architecture, high performance mass storage subsystems and high-performance parallel file systems so their performance evolution, their management, their benchmarking and monitoring.
