Annamaria Mazzoni is an environmental economics researcher with 10 years of experience within international scientific institutions in the United States, Italy, and Qatar.
Currently, she works as Project and Policy Specialist for the CMCC Foundation in Milan, Italy.
Before, she has worked as researcher and project manager for the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute, a member of Qatar Foundation in Doha, Qatar. Prior to that, she was working at the University of Southern California and Caltech, both in Los Angeles area, in the United States.
Her primary areas of research expertise encompass environmental economics, climate change and sustainability, Water-Food-Energy security, international trade, and energy transition. Driven by a confluence of personal, academic, and professional interests, she has acquired a lot of experience in the SWANA region, specifically its geopolitics and markets. Her academic background entails a PhD in Economics, awarded by the University of Turin and MA in Environmental Economics and Policy, from the same university. Before that, she obtained a BA in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Bologna.
Employing a combination of quantitative and qualitative skills, she aims at translating technical and scientific outcomes into market insights and policy recommendations. Her participation in diverse projects, with a central theme on social development and environmental sustainability, has honed her abilities in project management and stakeholder engagement. She thrives in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams, capitalizing on collective expertise and diverse backgrounds to forge optimal connections, innovative solutions, and strategic frameworks, thereby enhancing project outcomes and impacts.
Her overarching objective is to advocate for sustainability and initiate change by effectively bridging the gap between scientific research, practical applications, and policy.
