Giovanni Zizzi obtained a Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Lecce and started working on computing during his Ph.D. After this, he moved to the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare computing centre (INFN CNAF) in Bologna and initially worked in the user support unit.

After this primary role, he worked across different groups and reached eight years of experience as a system administrator. Since November 2018, he has worked as a system manager for the CMCC CSP and ODA divisions in Bologna.

He is now responsible for local CED and user support.
