Gabriele Tramonte obtained his Master Degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Salento, with a thesis in High Performance Computing (HPC), developed in collaboration with Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC), titled “Vision transformer for spatial downscaling: A case study over Italy” in which he exploited the use of Deep Learning techniques to spatially improve climate data on the Italian region. Since April 2024, Gabriele has been a Junior Research Associate, within the Advanced Scientific Computing (ASC) division of CMCC, where he is involved in the development of data management solutions for handling large and heterogenous climate/environmental data sources. Since January 2025, Gabriele is involved in the development of Cloud-Ready solutions for data management exploiting the use of Analysis-ready and cloud-optimized (ARCO) data formats, within the Advanced Digital Innovation Center (ADIC).
