Jenny Pistoia has a Ph.D in Physical Oceanography. Her PhD studies were focused on SuperEnsemble estimates and ensemble creation. She did her post-doc on SST data assimilation for the Mediterranean Sea Forecasting System.
Her research activity included the upgrade of data assimilation in the operational ocean system of the Mediterranean Sea by a new Background Covariance Model estimate and input data network assessment throughout OSE and OSSEs.
Currently she is working on the development of the CMEMS Mediterranean Forecasting system. Specifically, she is supporting the operational chain activities by studying the impact of tidal data assimilation and the ingestion of glider float data.
