Simone Norberti obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Salento, with a thesis focused on the design and development of an Internet of Things (IoT) Modbus protocol simulator for research purposes. Subsequently, he continued his studies with a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Salento, specializing in Artificial Intelligence.
At the end of the academic program, he graduated with a thesis in Artificial Intelligence Applications, developed in collaboration with the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC), titled “4D Transformer Neural Network for Ocean Forecasting: A case study over Mediterranean Sea” which focused on the use of deep learning techniques to improve the data-driven ocean forecasting. Since September 2024, Simone has been a Junior Research Associate in the Advanced Scientific Computing (ASC) division of CMCC, where he contributes to the development of machine learning models for weather and climate applications to achieve key project objectives.
