Nkongho is a PhD holder in Physics, a senior climate impact researcher, and a data scientist.
He completed his Ph.D in Physics at the University of Buea, Cameroon in 2019 and went ahead to do two Postdoctoral research projects funded by the German Alexander von Humboldt foundation, firstly at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research(PIK) in Potsdam, Germany from 2020 to 2021 and secondly at the Institute of Applied Geosciences, TU Darmstadt, Darmstadt, Germany from 2021 to 2023.
Nkongho is also a Physics Lecturer and has lectured Classical Physics courses for over five(5) years to undergraduate Physics and Engineering students at the University of Buea and at Saint Jerome Catholic University of Douala. He has also supervised several masters thesis at Saint Jerome Catholic University of Douala. Nkongho has recently joined the Economic Analysis of Climate Impacts and Policy division of CMCC and the Department of Environmental Science, Information, amd Statistics of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice as a Marie Curie research Fellow under the Global_@_Venice Co-Fund project.
As a transdisciplinary researcher, Nkongho’s research interests span the science of climate change, from studying the dynamics of climate systems to assessing their regional and global economic impacts. His interests also include Atmospheric Physics and chemistry, analysis of extreme climate events, climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies, climate change impacts on agriculture, sustainable agriculture, sustainable development, renewable energy, rural and urban electrification, and environmental science.
