Hernandez Lasheras Jaime

Jaime Hernandez Lasheras is a physical oceanographer working in the OPA division of CMCC Foundation since 2023, focusing his research on data assimilation in the Mediterranean Sea. He earned his PhD in Physics from the Universitat de les Illes Balears. Jaime has worked for the Spanish research council in SOCIB (Balearic Islands Coastal Observing and Forecasting System) honing extensive experience in data analysis, numerical modelling and data assimilation. He possesses specialized expertise in conducting Observing System Experiments (OSE) and Observing System Simulation Experiments (OSSE), where he evaluated the contributions of technologies like gliders or high-frequency radars to the enhancement of forecasting in coastal models. His work impacts the understanding of physical transport processes by employing various Lagrangian techniques.
