Guo Wei

Wei is a post-doc scholar at EIEE. Her research is situated at the intersection of Climate and Environmental Economics with Urban Economics, with a focus on topics including climate adaptation, natural disaster, renewable energy, and digital innovation.

Her ongoing work is organized around three major themes: 1) the welfare, economic, fiscal, and equity implications of natural disaster and adaptation policies, 2) the social cost of traditional and renewable power developments, and 3) the role of the sharing economy in enhancing society’s capability for climate adaptation. In her work, Wei employs a combination of econometric models, structural estimations, and advanced spatial analysis techniques.

Wei holds a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from University of California at Berkeley. Prior to doctoral study, she earned a master’s degree in Economics from Peking University, and double bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the same institution.
