Carmela De Vivo graduated with honors in Environmental Sciences in 2018 from the University of Salerno and obtained her PhD in “Environmental Phenomena and Risks” from the University of Naples “Parthenope” in July 2022 with a thesis titled “Climate Risk Assessment on the critical infrastructures and possible adaptation strategies: focus on euro-mediterranean airports.” During her PhD, she focused on defining a specific methodology for quantifying climate risk on airport infrastructures in the Mediterranean area, with application to specific case studies in the Italian context. Currently, she works as a post-doctoral researcher at CMCC Foundation – Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change, where she conducts research activities related to the evaluation of climate risk for critical infrastructures and other research activities as part of international projects. She is also involved in several environmental education projects with different environmental associations to raise awareness among children and young people about climate change.
