Filipe has a PhD on physical oceanography and worked with the Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model and ensemble assimilation methods since 2008. In November 2023 he joined CMCC as a team member of the Regional Ocean Forecasting Division (ROFS) to support developments in the 3DVAR assimilation scheme, OceanVar.
Filipe main interests are in ocean data assimilation schemes and model validation.
