Asrat studied master’s degree in Water and Coastal Management at the University of Bologna (Italy), University of Cadiz (Spain) and University of Algarve (Portugal). He also holds master’s degree in Environment and Development from Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia), and a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource management from Jimma University (Ethiopia).  He is interested in research areas related to the assessment and analysis of climate change hazard, impact, risk and extreme events as well as climate change adaptation.
