Workshop – The HuT project
14 February 2025, h. 10:00-12:30 CET | Tortolì, Ogliastra – Italy

During the Ogliastra local workshop organized as part of the HuT project, CMCC and CNR will present the outcomes of their modeling approaches, which analyze fire behavior under current conditions and the impacts of climate change in the region. This information represents the basis for discussing which areas or elements are considered to be of greatest value in the Ogliastra area, which areas or elements would be most in need of intervention to be made safe and mitigate fire risk, and identify which interventions/strategies could be most suitable for reducing fire risk.

The HuT project has as its main ambition the definition and promotion of a series of transdisciplinary risk management tools and approaches, to be transferred and adopted in different territorial contexts and on different natural risks.

Within the project, CMCC and CNR-IBE, in collaboration with Confragricoltura Nuoro-Ogliastra, coordinate the Ogliastra demonstration area, characterized especially by the recurrent risk of forest, rural, and interface fires. The main objective of the work that will be carried out in Ogliastra is to support the socio-ecological transition towards communities more resilient to fires, also in the context of climate change.
