Climateurope2 Festival
11-13 March 2024
Venice | NH Venezia Laguna Palace | Registration
Join Climateurope2 at the climate services and innovation festival in Venice!
Building on the success of previous online events called webstivals, the Euro-Mediterranean Climate Change Center (CMCC) is organizing this first in-person innovative festival, which differentiates from traditional scientific conferences by integrating elements of arts, capacity building and interaction. The event counts with an attractive program covering discussions that aim to unite science, services and standards for a climate resilient future.
The central themes of the festival revolve around three overarching themes, particularly selected to encourage the mingling of different types of audiences:
- EU Mission on Climate Change: Explore effective adaptation and building resilience through the use of climate services.
- Urban Challenges: Focus on sustainable urban development and climate resilient cities.
- Water Management Challenges: Discuss the crucial role of climate services in addressing water-related challenges.
The event will combine plenary sessions with more interactive formats like World Cafés, and a cross-cutting session on good practices in climate communication with the participation of professional journalists. In parallel, a marketplace provides a space for visitors to network and engage in original interactive activities. Should you have ideas to showcase your work, you can apply under the registration form. There are still some free spots available with only one condition: Think out of the box! Additionally, the project will offer lunches and coffee breaks at the festival and a social dinner for participants to foster networking.
We extend a special invitation to:
- Subnational entities such as local and regional administrations and authorities actively working on climate adaptation, as well as those looking to engage with the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change.
- Representatives from national or regional committees and forums dedicated to climate services and knowledge portals.
- Stakeholders across various sectors, including finance, energy, agriculture, and water, who utilize climate services.
- Providers and purveyors of climate services, including those developed by national meteorological and hydrological services, innovation projects and initiatives and public or commercial organisations.
The festival will put emphasis on empowering individuals in regional and local administrations, stakeholders from climate-related sectors, and anyone interested in engaging in climate action through the use of climate services. It’s an ideal occasion for insightful discussions on transparency, reliability, and the effectiveness of climate services through an equity and diversity lens that enriches the collaborative dialogue among festival’s participants.

Throughout the registration process, you are welcome to express your interest in presenting, securing a spot at the marketplace, or contributing to the agenda in other ways.
Unfortunately, registration for in-person assistance to the festival is closed. However, you can still register online to attend the plenary sessions of the festival.
