The Advanced Training and Education Center (ATEC) provides education, training, exchange, and knowledge transfer on climate change. The Center builds on the CMCC Foundation’s two decades of expertise to address global challenges by fostering interdisciplinary approaches and skills. It plays a pivotal role in developing climate adaptation and transition strategies for future generations.
Key Objectives:
- Educating the next generation: providing advanced education for postdocs, students, and young professionals on climate change and sustainability.
- Building a Global Knowledge Hub: establishing itself as a reference point for peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and advanced studies on climate science worldwide.
- Training for Policy and Governance: offering specialized training for public authorities and the private sector at both EU and national levels on the science-policy interface and climate governance.
- Accelerating innovation in the Global South: promoting capacity building on the design and scale-up of promising solutions for long-term and effective climate change adaptation and sustainable development.
ATEC leverages the CMCC’s extensive network of European and International partnerships, including collaborations with leading universities, private sector organizations, international bodies and civil society organizations Through these partnerships and ongoing European projects, the Center will drive global progress on climate action through education, capacity building and knowledge sharing.
