The Climate-KIC Journey is the Europe’s largest summer school for climate innovation and entrepreneurship which offers a unique combination of climate knowledge and hands-on business experience. The Journey brings together students and professionals having a wide range of backgrounds from all over the world. In 2018, the focus of the Journey is on Copernicus data applications.

General aims
The core objective of InnoSpace Journey is to stimulate uptake and exploitation of Copernicus data, to address the challenges of climate change, as well as create awareness of both the availability and the potential applications of open EO data. The InnoSpace Journey aims at fostering entrepreneurial thinking among students and future entrepreneurs deploying a learn-by-doing approach.
CMCC Role
- Support InnoSpace Journey by delivering lectures on examples of usage of data related to sustainability and climate change to InnoSpace Journey participants;
- Support InnoSpace Journey by providing data training, case studies and workshops on relevant Copernicus data and datasets for Climate-KIC’s InnoSpace Journey project;
- Support InnoSpace Journey by participating to juries.
Expected results
The Journey provides with climate change knowledge combined with entrepreneurship skills, allowing participants to create a business model which will help our environment.

Activity
Climate-KIC LEs cities of 2018 InnoSpace Journey (Bologna, Lund and The Netherlands) are responsible for providing, from June 24th to July 28th, 5 weeks of training, lectures and site visits related to climate change challenges and Copernicus data
