Gabriele Tramonte obtained his Bachelor Degree from the University of Salento, with a thesis focused on the design of an Internet of Things (IoT) system for the traceability of the organic fraction of urban wastes. Subsequently, he continued his studies with a Master Degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Salento. At the end of the academic course, he graduated with a thesis in High Performance Computing (HPC), developed in collaboration with Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC), titled “Vision transformer for spatial downscaling: A case study over Italy” in which he exploited the use of Deep Learning techniques to spatially improve climate data on the Italian region. Since April 2024, Gabriele has been a Junior Research Associate, within the Advanced Scientific Computing (ASC) division of CMCC, where he is involved in the development of data management solutions for handling large and heterogenous climate/environmental data sources through different Python scientific libraries and tools, in addition to other related data management and software development tasks.
