Simeoni Christian was born on May 13, 1994, in Montebelluna, Italy. He is currently a PhD candidate in Science and Management of Climate Change (36° Cycle) at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy. The key objective of his PhD research project is to design an advanced ML-based approach, exploiting functionalities of Artificial Neural Networks to disentangle and evaluate complex inter-relations among climate change – water quality – marine and coastal ecosystems biodiversity – ecosystem services flow in the Mediterranean eco-region.
Previously, Christian studied at the University of Padua (Department of Agriculture, forestry and fishery, Bachelor) where he started to explore the impacts of climate change in his Final Thesis. After this experience, he specialized in Environmental science at the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice. During the Master’s degree, he also spent a semester at the University of Antwerpen, Belgium.
Christian also holds a scientific affiliation with Fondazione Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici (CMCC – RAAS Division), where he gained expertise in climate change risk assessment, big data, machine learning potential, handling large climate datasets.
