Areeba Moiz, originally from Pakistan and raised in Saudi Arabia, has cultivated a diverse and impactful career in marine conservation. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Science from Dalhousie University, Canada, and completed her International Master’s in Marine Biological Resources (IMBRSEA) from Ghent University, Belgium.

Throughout her career, Areeba has made significant contributions to marine conservation projects worldwide, including humpback whale research in Canada and leading a sperm whale research project in Italy. Areeba joined CMCC in 2024, as a Junior Scientific Officer for CoastPredict, a program endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade. Additionally, Areeba is an integral part of the CoastPredict Secretariat, furthering her commitment to protecting marine ecosystems on a global scale
