Garima is a PhD student in Science and Management of Climate Change at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and a research collaborator with Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC). Her PhD research focuses on distributional impacts of climate change on manufacturing firms and labour markets as well as understanding the limits to climate adaptation.
Prior to joining PhD, she has gained a valuable experience working in climate policy research in India and has consulted for Government of India to prepare sub-national action plans on climate change with a focus on micro-level sectoral vulnerability assessments, finance gap assessments and resource mobilization strategies across three Indian states. She is a key contributor in preparing two finance solutions for livelihood and climate adaptation in Indian Himalayan Range in collaboration with UNDP. Garima has also contributed as a researcher to The World Bank funded projects on climate policies, public expenditure & institutional review; and country climate & development reports (CCDRs) for India and Nepal.
She holds a master’s degree in Economics with specialization in Environmental and Resource Economics from TERI (The Energy and Resource Institute, India) and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of Delhi, India.
Her research interest revolves around estimation of climate impacts, computational general equilibrium model and adaptation modelling.
