Garima is a PhD student in Science and Management of Climate Change at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in collaboration with Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC). Her PhD research focuses on distributional impacts of climate change on labour productivity and supply as well as understanding the limits to climate adaptation.

She has gained a valuable experience working in climate policy research in India for three years. She has been a key analyst in preparing 3 state action plans on climate change in collaboration with Indian state governments with a focus on micro-level sectoral
vulnerability assessments, finance gap assessments and designing of resource mobilisation strategies. She has contributed towards preparing two pilot finance solutions for livelihood and climate adaptation in high-altitude region in India under SECURE Himalaya
project funded by UNDP. Prior to joining PhD, Garima has also contributed as a researcher to The World Bank funded projects on climate public expenditure & institutional review for Sikkim and climate country and desk reviews (CCDRs) for Nepal and India.

She holds a master’s degree in Economics with specialisation in Environment and Resource Economics from TERI School of Advanced Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of Delhi, India.
Her research interest revolves around estimation of labour exposure response to heat, computational general equilibrium model and adaptation modelling.
