Heloisa Labella Fonseca is an oceanographer from the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil. Her thesis focused on the assessment of contamination by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the Estuarine Complex of Paranaguá, Brazil. She also holds a joint Erasmus Mundus+ master’s degree in Environmental Assessment and Management and Water and Coastal Management from the University of Bologna-Italy, the University of Algarve-Portugal and the University of Cadiz-Spain. Her master thesis characterized the state and current situation of coastal management in Milano Marittima, Italy.

She has joined the RAAS (Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies) division at CMCC@Ca’Foscari within the scope the AdriaClim project since January 2023. Her research interests are related to climate change, marine pollution and coastal management.
