Paolo Francesco Duminuco completed a BSc in Statistics at the University of Bologna, Italy, followed by a MSc in “Climate Studies” at Wageningen University and Research (WUR) in The Netherlands. He has honed the art of analysing data, and he has explored the interactions between soil-vegetation-atmosphere with a focus on the impacts of a changing climate.
In April 2024 he became an intern at the REMHI division in Caserta and since September 2024 he covers a Junior Research position for the same division. His main duties revolve around employing satellite data for various applications such as Numerical Weather Prediction verification and lightning detection algorithms. Further, he is involved in the development of climate indicators and in the application of Machine Learning algorithms for the exploitation of big data.
