Igor RuizAtake holds a BSc in Oceanography and an MSc in Environmental Sciences, both from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. His research focuses on the integration of hydrodynamic modeling and water quality modeling with social variables to assess the impact of pollution on housing prices. This involves employing hedonic pricing and machine learning methods.
Igor has accumulated over 6 years of experience at Tetra Tech, contributing to various projects ranging from oil spill modeling to hydrodynamic and hydrological modeling, as well as near and far-field simulations of effluent discharges. At Nestle, he served as a data scientist progressing to the role of Tech Lead in MLOps (Machine Learning Operations). In this capacity, he managed all products involving data science in projects within the Brazilian market.
Currently, Igor has been working in the application of Medslik-II for forecasting oil spill simulations and the projects in which this model is applied, as well as exploring its interface with machine learning applications.
