Odunayo David Adeniyi, born in Akure, Nigeria, holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Akure (2015) and a master’s degree in Agricultural Environmental Management Engineering (with distinction) from the University of Debrecen, Hungary (2020), supported by a Hungarian Government scholarship. He completed his PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Pavia, Italy, in 2024, with a focus on digital soil mapping in agricultural lowlands.
Odunayo has expertise in geospatial and machine learning techniques. As an African Research Fellow at the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2023, he applied Earth Observation (EO) to monitor soil moisture across West Africa.
Currently, he is a Postdoc Research collaborator at CMCC Foundation, where he develops agricultural drought indicators using EO data and machine learning. His work contributes to advancing sustainable agriculture, remote sensing, and environmental science.
