A competition of ideas designed to develop innovative and sustainable projects that help to solve the climate crisis and boost our economy & society in this current pandemic.
~ The Climathon Venice is an opportunity to learn, to meet the Ecosystem of Innovation in Venice, and to face the challenges of today, with the ultimate goal of creating value together ~
The VI edition of the Venice Climathon is the largest version yet. The main event will be run similar to the past years. There will be two full days of idea generation and cultivation during the hackathon on the 30th and 31st of October. For this Edition, we are adding an approach path during September and October. We have three Pre-Events, in collaboration with different partners (see below), and one Special Event, in collaboration with the MITdesignX Venice, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology of Boston. These will serve as workshops for participants to learn, brainstorm, and explore potential partners as well as methods for idea generation and development to have the largest impact on the Venetian economy.
The Challenge this year is open to all those ideas facing climate change, the current pandemic and that can be applied in the territories of Venice. Three thematic focuses will be addressed in specific: 1) Social Innovation 2) Circular Fashion 3) Creativity and Craftsmanship.
One winner will be selected from each thematic focus, and an overall winner will be awarded the trophy of the VI Edition of the Climathon Venice!
