“Start locally, look for an issue where there is a problem but there is a solution to address it. I think those are the most important stories to be told about climate change.”
“In all storytelling, even in journalism, there is the inclination to overdramatize, because it makes the story more powerful, sexier, stronger, or more devastating. I always try to be more sober-minded. I never want to be boring, but I’d rather be boring and accurate than sensational and mislead people.”
“If we look at the past, communication of climate crisis and the climate change issues have been focusing a lot on the problem, and they still are, of course, because the problem is complex and very big. But how important it is also to show that we can do something about it! That is how you inspire people, especially our youth. That’s how we inspire them to get involved, to be engaged: if we can show that there is an effort being made on a particular issue in a particular place or even at a global level.”
