SISC2025: Innovation in climate research for societal transformation” is the title of the SISC 13th Annual Conference, taking place on October 22nd-24th, 2025, in Salerno, at the Municipality of Salerno premises. The Conference aims to connect leading scientists, researchers, economists, practitioners, business leaders, and policy makers, whose activities are focused on different aspects of climate change, its impacts and related policies. The call for abstracts is now open and must be submitted by March 31 2025.

The Conference is an important interdisciplinary platform for the presentation of new advances and research results in the fields of science and management of climate change.

The call for abstracts and for thematic sessions are now open and topics of interest include:

  • At the intersection of Big data, HPC and AI for Climate Science
  • Risk management, adaptation and social and economic transformations
  • Changes in means and extremes: trends and dynamic at multiple scales
  • Climate related impacts on natural and human systems across landscapes
  • Mitigation technologies for ambitious climate targets

Abstract submission

The abstract must be between 4,000 and 8,000 characters long (including spaces) should be submitted online in English, no later than March 31st, 2025.

A maximum of three figures and bibliographical references may be included, which will not count towards the character count.

Call for Thematic Sessions

If you and the colleagues of your network have three to four abstracts connected by a unifying theme on the Conference topics you can propose a Thematic Session.

Thematic sessions aim to highlight current research on a conference topic. Thematic sessions will consist of three to four abstracts connected by a unifying theme. The Programme Committee will select a limited number of proposed Thematic Sessions based on scientific quality and originality.

The proposed abstracts for these sessions will undergo the normal refereeing process; only abstract that are approved for an oral presentation will be included in the programme.

If the thematic session is not accepted the abstracts accepted will be included in the programme in a different session.

Deadline for abstract submission: 31 Mar 2025
Notification: 9 May 2025
Deadline for registration for presenting author to be included in the programme: 6 June 2025
Preliminary programme: 30 July 2025
Conference: 22-24 October 2025
