60 outstanding experts from research and policy. An opportunity to exchange knowledge and good practices on adaptation modelling, strengthen professional networks and promote a better-informed decision-making process. An event to be held in Brussels on September 9-10, 2020.

One of the priority areas of the 2013 EU Strategy on adaptation to climate change is better-informed decision-making. The High-level Expert Workshop on Climate Adaptation Modelling, to be held in Brussels on September 9-10, 2020, will gather 60 outstanding experts from research and policy and offer the opportunity to exchange knowledge and good practices on adaptation modelling and strengthen professional networks.

The event is organized in the framework of the project Study on Adaptation Modelling (SAM-PS), which is conducting a review of climate change adaptation modelling methods and tools, developing guidance for their application and use-cases for their rapid deployment. The comprehensive review will provide an up-to-date and forward-looking overview that will inform the elaboration and assessment of investment and policy options.

The SAM-PS Project (CLIMA.A3/ETU/2018/0010) is commissioned by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA) and implemented by the CMCC Foundation – Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change in collaboration with the Institute for Environmental Studies, Deltares and Paul Watkiss Associates.

Participation in the workshop is by invitation only.
