CMCC, in collaboration with the European Commission’s Directorate General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO), is organising a Lessons Learnt meeting as part of the 2020-2024 UCPM Peer Review Programme.

On 14th November 2024, CMCC experts from the Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies Division, in collaboration with the European Commission’s Directorate General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO), will organise a Lessons Learnt meeting in Brussels as part of the 2020-2024 UCPM Peer Review Programme.

The meeting will gather key actors involved in all 2020-2024 UCPM peer reviews, including DG ECHO, the National Contact Point team representatives from host countries/regions, the peers, the contractor (CMCC and its partner University of Naples – PLINIVS).

This meeting represents a crucial opportunity for evaluating the effectiveness of the 2020-2024 UCPM Peer Review Programme cycle and discussing key insights from peer reviews conducted in Romania, Republic of Moldova, Greece, Italy, and Land Brandenburg.

Key objectives of the meeting include:

●      sharing experience gained by participants during the 2020-2024 cycle,

●      gathering feedback from the key actors participating in the reviews,

●      and discussing ways to improve the overall UCPM peer review programme.

Participants will engage in discussions on the peer review process, the Peer Review Assessment Frameworks, and the preliminary results from an online survey designed to gather insights from all involved.

This event aims to strengthen the resilience of disaster management systems and foster collaboration among experts in the field.
