Ehsan Sadighrad holds a Ph.D. in oceanography from the Institute of Marine Sciences at the Middle East Technical University (Erdemli, Turkey), focusing on Numerical Ocean Modeling in regional scales investigating mesoscale physical processes for vertical and horizontal transport in the Black Sea. His expertise lies in ocean modeling, with a particular emphasis on semi-enclosed seas, stratified marine environments, and high-resolution regional models based on NEMO. He possesses extensive experience in analyzing large ocean model simulation data. Ehsan has continued his engagement in ocean modeling projects, including assessing the effects of environmental and biological conditions on Antarctic krill. This involved applying the coupled ocean-ecosystem FESOM-REcoM numerical model to study Antarctic Krill dispersal and connectivity in the Lazarev Sea and adjacent seas through hydrodynamic-ecosystem modeling and an individual-based model of Antarctic krill.
He actively participated in the DOORS EU project, “Developing Optimal and Open Research Support” for the Black Sea. This research project establishes connections between science, policy, and industry for critical Black Sea regeneration.
Currently, Ehsan holds a position as a senior research assistant at CMCC in the COPERNICUS MED CMEMES2 MFC project.
