Cristina’s research at CMCC investigates the impacts of climate change on terrestrial ecosystems using advanced statistical approaches aimed at comprehending ecological responses and forecasting future scenarios as well as monitoring, studying, and managing biodiversity, its organization, and the associated ecosystem functions and services in relation to natural and anthropic impacts. She holds a B.Sc. in Biology and a M.Sc. in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability, majoring in Management and Sustainability of Environmental Systems. Merging the hard-science, economic- and social-science components of environmental studies, Cristina firmly believes in the adoption of transdisciplinary approaches for systemic change and is actively involved in several informal science and public outreach activities.
